engaging

The narrator for this is clearly keen and enthusiastic about the subject matter, as well as being well-spoken. the book is grounded in neuroscience and as such it has a clinical but pleasant feel to it.

So bored about her and me, me, and me... yawn!

It is good to give examples, but I don't really care about how you are dealing with your issues in your life.
How did she get on TED?

I can't see how this person think this is interesting or fascination
It felt like she was trying to channel interesting or a female version of Deryn Brown - both failed.

It is all about me, me, and me
She is so self-absorbed, and goes on about her and her family. I was so bored. She throws in some medical terms for the brain or a mental or physical terminology to show some verification of the material.
See, how clever I am!!!

Needy child, if you ask me - doctor heal thyself.

How she is a psychologist beggars belief.
I feel sorry for her clients and students she is a person who looks at the plumb and say what good person I am.
If I ...
If Matthew (her partner)
If .. I
If I could go rock-climbing
If I could mark students papers
Write a set number of words
If I could find more time I could...
There must be a thousand If I could or my husband, child...
I feel a grimace each time it was said. like a person who says my husband or my wife.

Please, stop going on about YOU! I think the only reason you studied psychology so you talk about YOU!!!!

It is NOT about YOU!!!!

Yes, it is good to use yourself as an example, but you don't you whine about your life. And you don't really give a proper
path for people to follow
I would prefer examples of who are not you and have changed their for the better with good examples.
You not have enough time, because.. yawn, is not why I bought this book

So, sad for her students and clients :0(

I am probably going to ask for a refund.
